North Carolina
Is Under Attack
and Richard Ojeda is ready to fight like hell to defend it.
Richard’s not running for Congress to play politics. He’s running because the stakes have never been higher. Trump and his enablers are coming after everything that matters from our veterans, our schools, our families, and even our future. And too many politicians are too weak, too quiet, or too bought-off to stop them.
Richard Ojeda is not one of them.

About Richard
He’s a retired Army Major who spent 16 years stationed at Fort Bragg. He’s a father, a husband, and a fighter who calls this state home. And when Richard sees working people getting steamrolled by greed and corruption, he does what he’s always done. He stands up and swings back.
This campaign isn’t about left or right. It’s about right and wrong. It’s about who’s got the guts to fight for the people who’ve been left behind like veterans, teachers, working families, and small-town communities that Washington forgot a long time ago.
If you’re tired of the lies, the sellouts, and the silence then this is your fight too.
Let’s take it to them.
Let’s win for North Carolina.
Policy
What Richard Ojeda believes in
and what he’s ready to fight for.
Richard Ojeda isn’t running for Congress with a laundry list of empty promises. He’s running because Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are hellbent on tearing this country apart, and they’ve made North Carolina ground zero for their chaos.
They’ve attacked our veterans. Undermined our schools. Spread lies about our elections. And now they’re coming for our healthcare, our Social Security, and our basic freedoms all while working families struggle just to get by.
Richard’s not having it.
He’s focused on the issues that matter most to North Carolinians because these are the issues that shape our lives, our families, and our future. And every single policy Richard fights for comes from one belief:
Working people deserve a government that fights as hard for them as they fight to survive.
Veterans Deserve More Than A Bumper Sticker

The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense visual information does not imply or constitute DOD endorsement.
Donald Trump and his administration are pushing dangerous cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs, threatening over 80,000 jobs and putting the healthcare and benefits of millions of veterans at risk.
Richard Ojeda spent 24 years in the Army. He knows what service means and he knows betrayal when he sees it.
Veterans kept their promise to this country. Now it’s time for this country to keep its promise to them.
Richard will fight to:
- Fully fund the VA so veterans get timely, quality care — no waitlists, no excuses
- Expand access to mental health care for PTSD, depression, and addiction
- Protect VA workers from reckless cuts that sabotage care from the inside out
No veteran should be left behind to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Not on Richard’s watch.
Keep Politics Out of Our Classrooms

Donald Trump and his administration are once again using our kids as political pawns, this time by threatening to withhold federal funding from schools that include diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. That’s not leadership. That’s government overreach.
Richard Ojeda believes what most North Carolinians believe. Parents and educators, not politicians, should decide what our kids learn.
Education should be about preparing our children for the real world, not about scoring political points. Richard’s seen firsthand how rural schools are underfunded, teachers are underpaid, and classrooms are stretched to the limit. He’s not interested in culture wars. He’s interested in making sure our kids succeed.
Richard will fight to:
- Protect local control of schools because Washington shouldn’t micromanage what’s taught in our classrooms
- Ensure schools are fully funded with the resources to train teachers, support students, and build strong futures
- Stand up for academic freedom so teachers can teach the truth without fear of losing their jobs
Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or independent, we all want the same thing: strong schools, smart kids, and a future we can believe in.
If You Come for North Carolina, You’d Better Be Ready for a Fight

The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense visual information does not imply or constitute DOD endorsement.
The Trump crowd is back in power and they’re already trying to gut the very institutions that keep our country running. They want to dismantle the Department of Education, sabotage healthcare access, and put essential public services on the chopping block.
That’s not leadership. It’s a direct threat to the people of North Carolina. And Richard Ojeda doesn’t sit quietly when his neighbors are under attack.
He’s not here to play nice with the political class. He’s here to stop the chaos, the cruelty, and the corruption with a steel spine and a bullhorn if necessary.
Here’s what he’ll fight for:
- Preserve what matters: No more gutting departments that serve veterans, students, and working families
- Protect your healthcare: No more attacks on coverage, costs, or rural hospitals
- Keep DC out of our backyard: Richard will stand up to any politician who tries to use North Carolina as a pawn in their political games
This state is home. And when someone threatens your home — you fight. Richard Ojeda always has. And he always will.
Healthcare is a Right, Not a Luxury

Richard Ojeda has held the hands of soldiers in combat and neighbors back home, and he’s seen what happens when this country turns its back on the people who need help the most.
He’s watched families get crushed by medical bills. He’s talked to parents who skipped their own prescriptions so their kids could eat. He’s seen working people forced to choose between insulin and electricity.
And now Donald Trump is back. Pushing brutal plans to slash Medicaid and rip healthcare away from millions of Americans. Over two million people in North Carolina rely on Medicaid just to survive and Trump wants to throw them to the wolves.
Richard will fight like hell to:
- Expand Medicaid in North Carolina and protect it from federal sabotage
- Cap prescription drug costs and hold Big Pharma accountable for greed
- Fully fund rural hospitals and clinics so no one has to drive hours just to see a doctor
- Defend access to reproductive care, mental health support, and addiction treatment
- Build a system based on need, not net worth, because getting sick shouldn’t be a death sentence
Nobody should go bankrupt because they got cancer. Nobody should die because they’re poor. And nobody should have to beg for basic dignity in the richest country on Earth.
Richard Will Stand Up for Working People Because He Is One.

Richard didn’t grow up with money. He grew up in a town where your boots hit the floor before the sun came up, where you earned your keep with sweat, not connections. He watched his father put in long days and longer nights to put food on the table. He saw uncles and neighbors pull double shifts, just trying to stay above water. And he learned early that if working people didn’t stand together, they’d get stepped on every damn time.
That’s why Richard is a proud union man. It’s not just politics, it’s personal. He’s walked the picket lines. He’s fought for better wages and safer conditions. And he’s never backed down from a fight with a CEO or a politician who sold out the people who actually do the work.
Donald Trump is gutting union protections, silencing federal workers, and waging war on the very people who keep this country running. That’s not reform. That’s retaliation. And Richard Ojeda is not letting it slide.
North Carolina already makes it damn near impossible to organize thanks to decades of anti-worker “Right to Work” laws. Wages stay low. Families stay stuck. And corporations keep cashing in. Richard’s had enough.
He’ll fight to:
- Raise the federal minimum wage because no one working full-time should live in poverty
- Repeal “Right to Work” laws that weaken unions and suppress wages
- Protect the right to organize in every workplace both public and private
- Defend federal and state workers from political attacks and union busting
- Invest in infrastructure and skilled trades to bring good union jobs across rural North Carolina
- Crack down on union-busting CEOs and the billionaires dodging taxes while workers go without
This country was built by working people, not hedge fund managers. And it’s time we put power back where it belongs: in the hands of the folks who clock in, punch out, and keep this country alive.
Richard Ojeda never forgot where he came from. And he’ll never stop fighting for the people who built this nation with their hands, their backs, and their hearts.
Hands Off Social Security

Social Security isn’t an “entitlement.” It’s not a handout. It’s a promise that if you work hard your whole life, your country won’t abandon you in retirement. But right now, that promise is under attack.
Donald Trump and his allies are once again floating plans to cut Social Security while they shovel tax breaks to billionaires. They’re playing political games with the lifeline that millions of North Carolinians depend on to survive.
Who does this hurt?
- It hurts the retired textile worker in Asheboro who dedicated 40 years to the mills, now struggling with worn-out knees and a tiny pension.
- It hurts the widow in Raeford who lost her husband and relies on survivor benefits to keep her home.
- It hurts the disabled veteran in Fayetteville who served honorably and now depends on Social Security Disability to cover basic needs.
- It hurts the rural grandparents in Green Level raising their grandchildren on a fixed income, stretching every dollar to provide a stable home.
And then there’s Elon Musk, a man who’s never worked a regular job in his life — who had the audacity to call Social Security a “scam” and say we should “move on” from it. This billionaire built his empire off the backs of taxpayers and workers, and now he wants to rip away the one safety net we’ve got left?
Hell no.
Richard will fight like hell to:
- Protect and strengthen Social Security — not cut it
- Oppose any attempts to raise the retirement age or privatize the system
- Stop the spread of misinformation about the program’s future
- Make the wealthy pay their fair share so Social Security stays solvent for generations
- Call out billionaires like Elon Musk who think working people are expendable
You paid into it. You earned it. And Richard Ojeda will never let anyone, not Trump, not Richqrd Hudson, not anyone, take it away.
Protecting Reproductive Freedom

Richard Ojeda doesn’t mince words when it comes to fundamental rights — and the right to make personal healthcare decisions is one of them. MAGA extremists and their enablers are waging war on women’s freedom, trying to rip away the right to choose and dictate what happens in doctors’ offices across this country.
Richard’s not having it.
He’s seen what happens when politicians play doctor — women suffer, families are torn apart, and lives are put at risk. Richard Ojeda believes that healthcare decisions belong to patients and their doctors, not politicians.
Richard will advocate for:
- Codify Roe v. Wade into federal law to protect the right to choose once and for all.
- Stop Republican efforts to criminalize abortion, because no one should face jail time for making personal healthcare decisions.
- Defend access to reproductive healthcare, including birth control, cancer screenings, and prenatal care, because a full range of care keeps families healthy.
Women shouldn’t have to beg for basic rights in the richest, most powerful country in the world. North Carolina women deserve to live without fear that their autonomy will be stripped away, and Richard Ojeda will never stop fighting to keep it that way.
Protecting Public Education: Standing Up for Students, Teachers, and Our Future

Donald Trump and Republicans like Richard Hudson are on a mission to destroy public education in America. They want to gut the Department of Education, slash funding for our schools, and let billionaires call the shots while our kids and teachers are left behind. Richard Ojeda isn’t going to let that happen.
Trump wants to shut down the Department of Education. He wants to turn our classrooms into profit centers for his rich friends while pushing political agendas that have nothing to do with learning. When Trump comes for public education, he’ll have to go through Congress first — and Richard Ojeda will be there to fight him every step of the way.
Richard knows that teachers and school service personnel are the backbone of our communities. They work long hours, dig into their own pockets for supplies, and show up for our kids even when politicians don’t show up for them. They deserve respect — and they deserve pay that reflects their commitment.
He will fight like hell to:
- Block any attempt to dismantle the Department of Education because public schools are the lifeblood of our communities.
- Fight for higher pay for teachers and school staff — no more poverty wages for the people who shape our future.
- Push for federal funding to support underfunded rural schools in North Carolina, because every child deserves a quality education, no matter their zip code.
- Demand safer classrooms and modern facilities, because outdated buildings and overcrowded rooms aren’t acceptable in the richest country on Earth.
- Advocate for comprehensive professional development for educators so they have the support and resources they need to succeed.
- Stand up for teachers’ rights to organize and bargain for better wages and working conditions, because union-busting politicians need to know that educators aren’t alone in this fight.
Richard also knows that for too long, young people have been trapped in cycles of debt just for trying to get ahead. Trump and his cronies would rather hand tax breaks to the rich than provide affordable education for working families. Richard’s not having it.
He’ll fight to:
- Strengthen financial aid programs, so every student has a shot at higher education without a lifetime of debt.
- Expand loan forgiveness programs for public servants, educators, healthcare workers, and those who serve our communities.
- Crack down on predatory lending practices that saddle students with sky-high interest rates and keep them stuck for decades.
- Hold for-profit colleges accountable for exploiting students and leaving them worse off than when they started.
Public education is the foundation of opportunity in America. It’s how we build a stronger, fairer future. Richard Ojeda knows that when politicians attack our schools, they’re attacking our kids, our families, and our communities. He’s not going to sit back and watch.
If you come for public education, you’d better be ready for a fight. Richard Ojeda always has been — and he always will be.
