Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
To vote in the March primary, you must be registered by 5pm on Friday, February 6, 2026
If you’re not registered, you don’t get a say. It’s that simple.

Polls are open 6:30a to 7:30p
You must vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day
If you are in line by 7:30 p.m., you are allowed to vote
Absentee Voting
(Vote-by-Mail)
Absentee ballots are available to any registered voter.

You can return your absentee ballot:
- By mail
- At an early voting site
- At your county board of elections office
January 12, 2026: County Boards of Elections begin mailing absentee ballots to voters who requested them.
February 17, 2026 at 5:00p: Deadline to request an absentee ballot.
March 3, 2026 at 7:30p: Your completed absentee ballot must be received by your county board of elections. Not postmarked. Received.

Early Voting
Early voting gives you more flexibility and fewer lines.
Early voting runs from:
February 12 through 3pm on February 28, 2026
Important to note that in most counties, there will be no early voting places open on Sunday. Check your county!
Hoke County (8a – 7:30p on weekdays, 8a – 3p on Saturdays. Closed Sundays.)
During early voting, you can:
- Vote in person
- Drop off your completed absentee ballot
